Clare is active in a number of national and international organizations. Clare is currently president of the European Society for Research on Adult Development, and is is a past president of and current incoming program chair for Division 1 (General Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. Clare serves on the editorial board of The Journal of Adult Development and the International Journal of Aging and Human Development. Clare is currently co-editing a second special issue for the Review of General Psychology on big ideas in psychology.
